Bangalore city Old Versus new

We are doing a photo essay showing Bangalore city 2-3 decades ago and also photo showing the city as it is now. We hope to study the effects of modern development and growth.
Bangalore which was called a pensioners paradise has lost that old charm, with many national and multinational companies establishing their headquarters here, Bangalore has seen fast growth.
The city has extended well beyond the old city limits with a tremendous growth in population.

Music Video

There is music everywhere in the natural world, but this melody often goes unnoticed. The notes intersperse to form the melody of the earth. Without water no life would be possible, from streams to oceans water is an important part of nature’s melody. With this precious gift in mind the students of Christel House India have created a Music video.

challenging experience

 Hi,

I am Sushma from grade 10th Studying in Christel House India, Bangalore. This is my first experience in stopmotion animation.
At first, we listed out ten topics and choose one topic, in those ten topics our topic was on ‘stray dogs’. We choose that topic because it was a debatable one, and it is the most important nuisance happening in Bangalore city now. The most difficult part of our project was drawing the characters based on our story and we had to make them as puppets. Even, we had to cut the pictures correctly in the desired shape and size and colour them properly because when there’s a small mistake also it will be seen big in the bigger screen and even light should be sufficient for taking the photographs. It was a challenging experience for me in doing this animation

There is no solution for these stray dogs nuisance yet, but we our putting on a question to the audience at last to get a proper solution for this problem and also we are bringing the awareness of the stray dogs.
This project made all our team members to become more creative and thoughtful. It was the most enjoyable experience and we learn a lot in doing this stop-motion animation. This animation is totally different from software (Flash) animation.
I hope this project will create a good awareness and will be a good message to all.

very new and different

Dear AYV Team,

We choose this film as it speaks about peace and knowledge. These two things are very important for our day to day life. They are the two aspects which maintain a balance in our society.
First we started with the storyboard. This is our school prayer and we have been reciting it for many years so we wanted to visualize this prayer and show it to others. This was my first visual poem so I found it a bit difficult because we had to follow the lyrics of the poem and place pictures accordingly.

We visited different places to take shots. This was a very peaceful place. The shots which we took from this place were suitable for our visual poem. Shooting required a lot of time. The editing was very difficult because we had a lot to choose from. We had to see that each line had a related picture. Managing time was another problem as we had to attend our regular classes and work on our project.

I got a chance to learn something which was very new and different, that is "Green Screen Effect". With the green background for an object we can replace it with any other kind of background. This was my favorites and i enjoyed it a lot.
This project has been a good learning process.

Hi AYV Team,

I am Nandini. Venkatesh grade 10 from Christel House India, Bangalore.  This is my first experience working in stop motion animation. We had to first decide topics to start working on the project. So we choose ten topics and finally decided one topic that is stray dog. We also had to decide the characters. For stop motion animation there is no necessary of software. We chose this topic because this is a debatable one because there is no perfect solution for this and none have done a project on this. Its gonna be a challenging one for us. We faced some challenges such as, we had to carefully draw pictures, color them properly, cut them properly and so on. If suppose a slight mistake is made then we had to rework on it because when put on TV screen a huge mistake will be seen. The reflection of light while shooting pictures should carefully be done. One more thing we almost re-shot the pictures three times.

The main reason why we chose this is to spread awareness to people about the accidents and diseases caused by the stray dogs. Even though cupa organistion takes care of them not all can be taken care. So we put a question mark at the end to the audience for a solution. Its great being a part of stop motion animation team.i hope this awareness will bring some change.

thanks and regards,
Nandini. Venkatesh

We started a stop motion animation

There is a huge debate raging amongst the citizens of Bangalore – between the animal lovers and the others who feel that stray dogs are a menace to the city.

We started a stop motion animation  about stray dogs.

Recently the issue started with a 7 years old girl being mauled to death by a pack of street dogs near her house. A hue and cry was raised by many citizens who felt or have experienced the menace created by street dogs in Bangalore. The situation turned to worse when another 4 year old boy was mauled to death. The city corporation swung into action and ordered that stray dogs should be captured and culled.

A few section of the citizen, especially those who have been terrorized by the stray dogs before felt that this was the only way in which Bangalore could be freed from stray dogs. Another section felt that the culling of dogs was inhuman, since they also have the right to share the planet along with us.
